With the Blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji Pehowa Wale arranged a Mahan Nagar Kirtan from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar Pehowa to Thakhat Sri Kesgarh Sahib (Anandpur Sahib) in continuous celebration of the 300th Gurta Gurgaddi.
The Nagar Kirtan which took place from 20th - 22nd March 2010 was the third out of a plan of five, following the first from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar Pehowa to Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib in 2008 and the second from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar Pehowa to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib in 2009.
A huge media campaign advertising the event via television, newspaper and several thousand advertisement boards took place throughout India, inviting Sangat from all over the world to attend and take part in the historic celebrations. The Nagar Kirtan began at Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar Pehowa at Amrit Vela on the 20th March, with hundreds of thousands of members of the sikh sangat all around the globe arriving to take part.
With the planned route via Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib in Patiala and a night stay at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib (Sirhind) on the 20th March 2010, several hundred langars were arranged throughout the nagar kirtan route, in which the Sikh sangat illustrated immense love and respect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Although the Nagar Kirtan had reached Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib in Patiala, masses of sangat taking part in the Nagar Kirtan were still leaving Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar Pehowa.
On the night of the 20th March 2010 the Nagar Kirtan, was largely welcomed by the SGPC authorities and sangat of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, who had arranged large scale langar tents and accommodation camps for the arriving sangat. With an Ardaas carried out the next morning, the Nagar Kirtan left Sri Fatehgarh Sahib at Amrit Vela and was well on the way to Sri Anandpur Sahib by the evening.
Again throughout the way, hundreds of thousands of people, took part in the celebrations and joined the Nagar Kirtan as it travelled colourfully throughout the villages of Punjab. The Jathedar of Sri Akal Thakhat Sahib also joined in the celebrations and greeted the Nagar Kirtan as it reached Ropar.
Awaiting the Nagar Kirtan at Sri Anandpur Sahib late in the evening of the 21st March 2010, Jathedars of the Sikh Holy Thakhats including the president of the SGPC welcomed the Nagar Kirtan upon arrival and congratulated Baba Ji on arranging such a large scale historic event within the Sikh Nation.
A large scale firework display was arranged by Baba Ji to continue welcoming the hundreds of thousands who continued to arrive at Sri Anandpur Sahib. Once more a large scale Langar was arranged by Sant Baba Mohan Singh Ji, which contained approximately 300 international dishes. A rehnsbhai programme took place throughout the night, in which Jathedars of the Sikh Holy Thakhats and the President of the SGPC all addressed the sangat, congratulating each and every one of them for showing such love and respect for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and making themselves a part of history, by taking part in the amazing event.
All Jathedars and the President of the SGCPC were given Golden Khandas and Siropas by Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji for resolving the issue of the Nanakshai Calendar and implanting one Maryada within the Khalsa Panth for years to come. Baba Ji stated that the masses of sangat had exceeded all expectations and such love, respect and devotion in continuing celebrating the 300th Gurta Gurgaddi, would be remembered by the Khalsa Panth for generations to come.
Baba Ji stated the 4th Mahan Nagar Kirtan would take place on the 20th March 2011 from Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar to Thakhat Sri Damdama Sahib in Bhatinda.
